Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Emanuel “Manny” Stang, age 86, who died Friday at his home surrounded by family.  Entombment will be in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond.  Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 p.m followed by the Rosary with Catholic United.  Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m., Tuesday morning at the funeral home.  Arrangements are with Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond.

Manny was born in St. Martin to Mathias and Amalia (Lieser) Stang.  He married Alma Feldhege on May 25, 1955 in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond.  Manny served in the Army and was a soldier in the Korean War.  He retired from the Cold Spring Granite Company.  Manny was a member of Catholic United Financial, Richmond American Legion, St. Gerard Mission Group and the Richmond Senior Citizens.  He also had over two thousand volunteer hours at the St. Cloud VA.  Manny loved playing cards with his many card groups, eating popcorn while playing solitaire, biking with his three-wheeler, walking, meat raffles and spending time with his family.
 
Survivors include his wife, Alma, his bride of 61 years; children, Barb (Dan) Kohorst, Arlene (Jerome) Mueller, Grace (Steve) Dingmann, Karla, Ken (Lois), Jack (Cathy), Brenda (Chris) Larson, Marci (Kevin) Stang, Greg (Peg) and Kristi (Adam) Betker; siblings, Br. Daniel Stang, OSB, Conrad (Eileen), Maryann Linz, Sr. Bernadette, OSB, Harold (Marie), Jim (Donna), Kathy (Rich) Olmscheid, Donald (Shari); sister-in-law, Edith Stang; brothers-in-law, Herb (Emmy) Torborg, and Jim (Doris) Stalboerger; 24 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Andrew, JoAnn Torborg, Marilyn  Stalboerger, and Mathew; in-laws, Severin Linz and Fred Albers; grandchild, Leo Kohorst.
