Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Peace Lutheran Church, Cold Spring, MN for Duane Larson, age 91, who died September 19 at Little Hospice in Edina. Inurnment will be at the Garden of Peace Cemetery in Cold Spring.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2017, and from 10:00 – 11:00 Saturday morning at Peace Lutheran Church in Cold Spring, MN. Arrangements are with Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring, MN.

Duane Larson was born on February 28, 1926 in Clarissa, MN to Oscar and Gladys (Case) Larson. He married Pearl Olson on August 12, 1946.  They farmed in and around Bertha, MN, where all of their children were born. Duane worked at the Bertha Creamery, and in 1962 was awarded the Champion Butter Maker award at the State Fair.   In 1968 they moved to Cold Spring, MN, where they have resided since.  He was the Cold Spring Creamery manager and later he became the top salesman at Doboy Feeds. Duane was a member of the Cold Spring Lions Club, where he was awarded the Melvin Jones Award.  He won the Cold Spring Service Award in 2005. Duane had a great faith and loved his church community. He started the ROMEO (retired old men eating out) group. Duane enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his children, Randall (Jill), David (Roberta), Dean (Deborah), Ronald (Diane), Carolyn (David) Ronneberg, Pamela (Scott) Howard, Cheryl (Kenneth) Norman, Gregory (Michelle); twenty-one grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and his dog Riley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Pearl.
