Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Bernard “Ben” Kaiser, age 88, who died Saturday at his home.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2017 and Thursday from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond.  Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m.  Arrangements are with Wenner Funeral Home, Richmond.

Ben was born in Cold Spring to William and Magdalena (Siefermann) Kaiser.  He married Lidwina Thelen on May 21, 1960 at the St. Martin Catholic Church.  He served in the Army during the Korean War.  Ben worked for the Cold Spring Granite Company for 29 years.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing and feeding the birds and he was a devoted blood donor.  Ben was a member of Catholic United Financial. 
 
Survivors include his wife, Lidwina; children, Michelle (Ron) Mergen, Kevin (finance’  Sherry Bonneau) Karla and Amy (Len) Gilmore; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-granchildren siblings, Sylvester Kaiser, Bernadette Schreifels, Al Kraemer, Carol Kraemer, Judy DeWenter and Sylvester Kraemer.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Gebbard, Romuald, Alfred, Celestine, Alcuin, Edwin, Mary, Cyril, Othmar, Jerome, Marie and Math.
