Howard R. Braun, 65-year-old resident of Pierz, MN passed away peacefully at his home in Pierz, MN on October 25, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN with Father Matthew Luft officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery in Pierz, MN. A visitation will be held from 9:30-11:30 A.M. on Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. Howard Reinhard Braun was born on September 26, 1952 in Little Falls, MN to John and Colette (Poepping) Braun. He grew up with his 5 siblings in Pierz, MN. Howard attended St. Joseph’s Grade School and graduated from Healy High School in Pierz in 1970. He attended St. John University and St. Cloud Business College. After college, Howard and his brother purchased their parents’ business in St. Cloud, Braun Automotive. He sold his share of the business to his brother in 1988, when he began Braun Enterprises, a motor coach business, and Braun Family Properties, a rental management company.

Howard married Jacquelyn Utermarck on May 26, 1984 in Golden Valley. Howard loved his family and loved spending time with them anywhere. He enjoyed laughing and telling stories with friends, traveling, fishing, hunting, scuba diving, driving to Alaska, camping/bonfires, history, sunsets and reading on the beach in Mexico.

Howard is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jackie; his daughters, Danielle (Omar) Thompson of Kenai, AK, Brianna (Brian) McGlynn of Mound, MN; son, Christopher Braun of Mound, MN; grandsons, Carter and Kyser; brother, Bob (Lee) Braun of Duelm, MN; sisters, Joan (Jim) Kapsner of Pierz, MN, Cathy (Ken) Britz of St. Peter, MN, Jane (Doug) Binnie of Sioux Falls, SD and many nieces and nephews.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents; John and Colette Braun and brother, Dr. Don Braun.

After a wonderful life surrounded by his family, Howard died peacefully at home.
